Discosloth is a Fayetteville-based digital marketing company with a fanatical obsession with driving results.
We're not your usual team of jargon-happy sales guys. We're coders and nerds, and we work best hunkered down focused on a campaign. Northwest Arkansas has exploded in growth over the past few years, and we're really excited to be in the middle of the boom. And although NWA (the area, not the rap group) is growing rapidly, we still feel that there's plenty of room for tech-driven marketers to make their mark. That's one of the reasons we are focused so strongly on small & medium business SEO and PPC.
Search engine optimization is one of the strangest niches on the internet. It's confusing, ever-changing, full of jargon, and seems like it can never work. We've got a very pragmatic and straightforward approach when we're implementing SEO for our clients.
First, we make it clear up front that you won't see instant results. We have a very solid, white-hat approach to SEO - no shady tactics or guru methods involved. We focus on onsite technical SEO optimization and content marketing, and don't worry too much about the trendy fads that put websites at risk of lower rankings. The downside of our approach is that it's expensive and takes a long time - sometimes 6-12 months before you even start seeing amazing results. The benefit? We have seen some incredible results from our SEO strategies.
The strategies involved in a high-performing SEO campaign differ wildly according to your specific business. A veterinary hospital in Fayetteville, for example, will require a different strategy than an ecommerce store headquartered in Bentonville. A tiny brick & mortar shop in downtown Rogers will need a wildly different approach to SEO success than a tech company in Fayetteville.
As long as a company understands that it takes time and money to create solid SEO success, we're confident we can reach amazing results. For example, take a look at the results we got with one of our SEO campaigns. The website we were promoting was a brand new content/news site that was started from scratch, no previous branding or links. The first two months looks pretty hopeless, doesn't it? Then, things start to pick up. We used a strategy of constant content creation and detailed onsite technical optimization. By 9 months in, the website was getting over 250 visitors a day entirely organically - no paid traffic at all. The website was outranking some of the largest sites on the internet for some incredibly competitive terms.
Second, we always try to make it clear that SEO isn't always the answer. That's because it's expensive, and there might be other channels which can provide you more return on investment for your marketing dollar. We work & live within a small market, and we understand the importance of making every dollar count.
Third, we use the most effective and solid strategies for search engine optimization. We're experts in this field: we both speak at international SEO conferences and regularly publish books on the subject. Some fun facts: Anya, our cofounder, does both corporate PPC (pay-per-click) training and has spoken at conferences like BrightonSEO in the United Kingdom. Our book, Becoming A Digital Marketer, is included in university syllabi and is an Amazon bestseller for online internet search engine books. And Gil, our other cofounder, has consulted in digital marketing for local Northwest Arkansas powerhouses like Tyson Foods.
(All that sounds like we're tooting our own horns. Sorry. We're just trying to convince you to call us. We hope you understand!)
Some of the tactics we use:
Often, we're asked about our linkbuilding tactics. We don't do linkbuilding in the traditional sense. We believe in white-hat, sustainable methods of search engine optimization, so we don't do any sort of shady link creation...or anything automated at all, really. Our brand outreach means that we literally reach out to real journalists and bloggers and pitch ideas to them. This has gotten us into a lot of top-tier journalistic publications!
We don't work with just any industries, however. We work with travel, healthcare, ecommerce, technology, and more. However, we don't work with websites that violate Google's content guidelines. That's usually things like gambling, inappropriate content, weird health supplement stuff, and honestly anything that you'd be embarrassed to share with your grandmother.
We work mostly with English language campaigns. However, we've started expanding our internationalization abilities as we've grown our staff. At Discosloth, our staff speaks native English, native Russian, and Polish. We don't run SEO or PPC campaigns in other languages due to the necessary keyword research and content creation required for success. Gil does pretend to know Klingon, but he's hopeless.
Are you a small or medium business located in Northwest Arkansas, and looking for a local company to help your digital marketing needs? We'd love to chat. You might be interested in emailing or calling Gil, our cofounder, who is technically one of those Little Rock born & raised people, but has since emigrated away to a better place.
SEO is a long-term strategy, but the benefit is that the positive results last for a while. We approach SEO from a sustainable perspective: creating a quality experience for your users. We have seen massive results from organic SEO, but it can take 6 months to 1 year before you really see the numbers. Success requires patience!

Yes, in order to know how well your SEO campaign is performing, you'll need to have Google Analytics set up and installed on your site. You'll need to give edit access to firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll help walk you through the account setup process.
We write all of your content in-house, and each article is specifically tailored for your website. Poor quality content can hurt brands more than help, so we keep them natively written and well-researched.
We get this question all the time. The real question is, why not!?
